A new access to Kempes Stadium, Córdoba: parking goes underground, and above it a retail promenade and an elevated park connect the stadium with the city.

Infrastructure as Landscape is an architecture thesis (FAUD UNC, Taller Mediterráneo, 2026) that rethinks the access to the Mario Alberto Kempes Stadium in Córdoba, Argentina. The stadium fills up only a few days a year; the rest of the time its entrance is a parking lot, a highway and a roundabout. The proposal does not remove that infrastructure: it uses it as support. A cycling and pedestrian loop stitches together the parks of the area, an intermodal station organizes arrivals by bus, long distance coach and ride hailing, and a central piece takes over the footprint of the parking lot: cars go underground, a retail promenade appears at ground level under a slab opened by courtyards, and above it a walkable park with ramps crosses the road barriers and connects the stadium with the city. Three things at once: how people arrive, how the area connects, and a place that is used on weekdays, not only on match days. Developed with Josefina Reynoso and Bruno Vitozzi.
